10:05 a.m The President and First Lady leave Andrews Air Force Base on Air Force One headed for the state of Texas

1:30 p.m. Air Force One lands in San Antonio, Texas where they are greeted by the Governor of Texas John Connally, his wife Nellie, Vice President Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson. They tour the city in a motorcade, the Connally's and Kennedy's riding together in a convertible.

3:52 p.m. The Kennedy's fly to Houston and tour the city in a motorcade
11:07 p.m. Air Force One lands at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas

11:20 p.m. The motorcade leaves Carswell Air Force Base and head to downtown Fort Worth to the Hotel Texas
|
|
11:50 p.m. The Kennedy's arrive at the hotel and greet crowds inside and outside of the hotel. The President and First Lady stayed the night in suite 850.

8:45 a.m. The President Kennedy greeted gathering crowds outside of the hotel

9:25 a.m. John F. Kennedy delivered his last public speech at a breakfast gathering with First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, Vice President Lyndon Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson present. In less than four hours President Kennedy was assassinated

11:20 a.m. Air force One departs Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth heading for Dallas
11:46 a.m. The Kennedy's are greeted by crowds lined around the fence at Love Field

11:52 a.m. The Kennedy motorcade and the presidential limousine
carrying the Kennedy's and Governor and Mrs. Connally left Love field
for the Dallas Trade Mart to have lunch

12:21 p.m. The presidential limousine turns off Harwood street onto Main Street in downtown Dallas and greeted with tens of thousands of people lined up and down the street

12:30 p.m. President Kennedy and Governor Connally are shot
|
|
12:36 p.m. Presidential Limo arrives at Parkland Hospital

|
12:40 p.m. Network Broadcaster CBS interrupts the soap Opera "As The
World Turns" with the Breaking News. Anchorman Walter Cronkite visibly
moved announces the death of President Kennedy to a shocked and
bewildered audience.

1 p.m. Kennedy is pronounced dead by the doctors
|
|
1:08 p.m. Police Officer J.D. Tippit calls into police dispatch
|
|
1:16 p.m. Officer Tippit passes away from a gunshot wound
|
|
1:22 p.m. A rifle is found on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository building.

1:55 p.m. Lee Harvey Oswald is arrested at the Texas Theater in a Oak Cliff for the murder of Police Officer Tippit

2:04 p.m. The body of the late President leaves the Parkland
Hospital and brought to the Love Field, where he is placed aboard
Air force One.

2:28 p.m. Lyndon Baines Johnson is sworn in as the 36th U.S. President aboard Air Force one. The oath of office is administered by the U.S. District Court Judge Sarah Hughes

2:25 p.m.
Oswald is interrogated at length until late in the evening and placed in more than one police line-up
7:05 p.m.
Oswald is charged with murdering Police Officer Tippit
11:26 p.m.
Oswald is charged with the the assassination of John F. Kennedy
November 23, 1963
12:35 a.m. Oswald is booked, finger printed and his mug shot taken

A private Mass is held for family and friends in the East Room of the White House.
3:51 p.m.
President Lyndon B. Johnson appears on television to proclaim November 25 as a national day of mourning.
"...John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 35th President of the United States, has been taken from us by an act which outrages decent men everywhere...I, Lyndon B. Johnson...do appoint Monday next, November 25...a national day of mourning."
November 24, 1963
11:21 a.m. Lee Harvey Oswald handcuffed to Dallas Police Detective Jim Leavellis during a transfer from the Dallas Police Department to the county jail, was gunned down by Jack Ruby . Jack Ruby was arrested for the murder of Oswald. He died in prison on March 1, 1967
